“A motorcyclist was crossing just ahead of me when his engine apparently failed… There was no possibility that I could have stopped in time to avoid hitting him.”

My story goes back to the 1970s. I was driving in my 220 Diesel on a two-lane road, going about 45 miles per hour. A motorcyclist was crossing just ahead of me — entering from a road on my right — when his engine apparently failed, leaving him stopped in the middle of my lane. There was oncoming traffic in the other lane, so the motorcyclist was left completely helpless. There was no possibility that I could have stopped in time to avoid hitting him. Due to the superb handling of my Mercedes-Benz, I was able to swerve around the motorcycle, crossing the center line for a brief moment and safely returning to my lane in time to avoid the oncoming traffic.

I just bought an E350 Sedan and love it. It’s the third MB that I have owned and the 6th that I have driven. The handling is magnificent. In my opinion, the handling is the reason most people choose Mercedes-Benz over other cars.
