    The CL550's new-generation 429-hp twin-turbo V-8 doesn't just get you from 0 to 60 more quickly, it fine-tunes its performance countless times along the way. The CL600's 510-hp twin-turbo V-12 blends superlative thrust with supernatural smoothness.

    The world's first 7-speed automatic transmission has been re-engineered for the CL550, blending greater efficiency and with crisper response. The CL600's robust 5-speed expertly channels its abundant torque.     The CL550's AIRMATIC uses pressurized air to expertly balance sharp handling reflexes with a relaxing ride. Both systems offer Sport modes, 4-wheel level control, and automatic lowering at higher speeds to enhance stability.

AIRMATIC semi-active suspension
For a balanced, comfortable ride, the AIRMATIC semi-active suspension employs electronically controlled air springs that adjust to changing driving conditions. A choice of two settings, Sport and Comfort, lets drivers match the ride characteristics to their mood. The system also lowers the ride height at higher speeds for improved aerodynamics. AIRMATIC also provides automatic 4-wheel level control, to help compensate for additional cargo or passengers.

Intuitive, seat-shaped controls help you and your front passenger find your ideal seating positions with 12-way power adjustment, plus a 4-chamber lumbar support. A memory system for each front seat recalls three stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the power steering column and side mirror positions.

The numbers only tell part of the story: 12 cylinders, 510 hp and 612 lb-ft of peak torque from 1,800-3,500 rpm. The rest you have to feel for yourself. Staggering acceleration and low-end torque stems from two advanced, compact turbochargers, which nearly eliminate "turbo lag". Two liquid-to-air intercoolers further intensify combustion for seemingly endless thrust at any rpm. And with high-strength components like a diecast block, it's both seamlessly smooth and stunningly strong.

Active Body Control

Arguably the most advanced suspension in production, ABC is a fully active suspension that ideally balances comfort and response in virtually every situation. A network of advanced sensors and electronically controlled hydraulics is designed to counteract the effects of roll, vibration, pitch, dive and squat during cornering, braking and acceleration. Innovative logic also allows ABC to mitigate the effects that crosswinds have on the vehicle. A driver-selectable Sport mode provides virtually flat cornering capability far beyond ordinary suspensions. Automatic 4-wheel level control gradually lowers the ride height as speeds increase, to improve aerodynamics and stability

Heated and Active Ventilated seats are a luxury you'll soon consider a necessity. Three levels of heating and cooling ventilation are offered. By gently circulating air through perforations in the seat and backrest, Active Ventilated seats help keep you cooler and your clothes dryer during warmer months. On cold or damp days, using both the ventilation and heating features together can circulate the seat heating more quickly, to help keep you warm and dry.

Active multicontour front seats feature adjustable lumbar supports, side bolsters and shoulder supports, for custom-tailored support. A massage feature helps prevent fatigue on longer drives, and offers settings ranging from gentle to more vigorous. Active side bolsters can be set to automatically increase lateral support in cornering maneuvers, or even in the event of a potential accident.

4-wheel Electronic Traction System

In any season or road condition, 4MATIC™ all-wheel drive adds to your confidence and control.
