    With a drag coefficient as low as 0.29, the E-Class Cabriolets slip through the wind virtually unnoticed. Yet their dramatically detailed styling commands attention, from the arrow-shaped nose to its sculpted rear fenders. With the soft top stowed, a color-keyed cover with domed fairings behind each rear seat maintains its seamlessly flowing design and sleek proportions.

    Hand-fitted leather,
    hand-polished wood.

    True grand-touring convertibles, the E-Class Cabriolets extend their gracious refinement to all four passengers. Rich leather is exactingly double-stitched and fitted to each seat by hand. Burl Walnut or Black Ash wood trim is polished by hand and liberally applied throughout the cabin. An optional Trim Package embellishes the steering wheel and shift knob with matching wood.

    Purebred passion, polished performance

    Aggressive in style and size, 18-inch alloy wheels are now standard on every E-Class Cabriolet. Race-bred AMG twin 5-spoke wheels are standard on the E550, along with perforated front brake discs with Silver-painted calipers. All these sport upgrades are also part of the E350 Appearance Package, as well as a lowered sport suspension, multicontour front seats and brushed aluminum pedals.     Lower aspect ratio tires and accompanying wheels provide substantially increased treadwear, increased tire noise and reduced ride comfort. Serious wheel and tire damage may occur if the vehicle is operated on rough or damaged road surfaces or upon encountering road debris or obstacles. These tires are not designed for use on snow and ice. Winter tires mounted on appropriately sized and approved wheels are recommended for driving in those conditions.

Dynamic Handling suspension

Dynamic Handling suspension
Engineered to meet the requirements of even more demanding drivers, the Dynamic Handling suspension alters the damping rates, accelerator response and shift points, all at the touch of a single button. The electronically controlled shock absorbers independently adjust for each wheel based on the current driving situation. A choice of Comfort and Sport settings lets you match the car's driving character to your mood.

Direct Injection

In our newest generation of gasoline engines numerous advances team up to deliver more torque over a wider range of rpm. Rapid-multispark ignition fires up to four times per millisecond, while advanced high-pressure Direct Injection microscopically tunes the fuel spray, reducing emissions, fuel consumption and noise. A lightweight diecast-alloy block, quicker and more widely variable valve timing, reduced friction, and clever "on-demand" ancillary components like the alternator further boost efficiency.

AMG twin 5-spoke wheels

Five pairs of thin spokes call attention to the light weight and rigidity of these race-bred wheels, as well as the impressive brake hardware. Staggered in width, the rear wheels and tires are wider than the fronts, for greater acceleration grip without sacrificing crisp steering feedback.

AGILITY CONTROL

Dynamic Handling suspension
Engineered specifically for performance driving, AGILITY CONTROL automatically adjusts the individual shock absorbers based on the road surface and the driver's current driving style. Valving inside each shock absorber automatically firms up during stronger body motions for sharper handling feedback and stability, and reduces the damping rates during gentler motions for a smoother, more composed ride.

AIRCAP

AIRCAP is an automatic virtual wind blocker, utilizing a speed-sensitive airfoil that rises from the windshield header and an automatically height-adjusting see-through mesh screen between the rear head restraints. AIRCAP helps keep top-down driving quiet and draft-free even at highway speeds. And unlike conventional wind deflectors, the rear seats remain fully usable.
