    Precision with a pedigree

    Aggressive in style and size, 18-inch alloy wheels are now standard on every E-Class Coupe. Race-bred AMG twin 5-spoke wheels are standard on the E550, along with including perforated front brake discs with Silver-painted calipers. All these sport upgrades are also part of the E350 Appearance Package, as well as a lowered sport suspension, multicontour front seats and brushed aluminum pedals.     Lower aspect ratio tires and accompanying wheels provide substantially increased treadwear, increased tire noise and reduced ride comfort. Serious wheel and tire damage may occur if the vehicle is operated on rough or damaged road surfaces or upon encountering road debris or obstacles. These tires are not designed for use on snow and ice. Winter tires mounted on appropriately sized and approved wheels are recommended for driving in those conditions.

Blind Spot Assist

At speeds above approximately 20 mph, if radar sensors in the rear bumper detect a vehicle in the "blind spot" area to either side, an indicator lights up in the appropriate side mirror. If you activate a turn signal while a vehicle is detected, a warning sounds. And if you disregard the alerts and begin changing lanes, available active technology can apply the brake to a single rear wheel, to help guide the car back into its lane.

7-speed automatic transmission

A wide range of closely spaced gear ratios delivers the ideal response for virtually every driving situation, for smooth cruising, quick acceleration, and thanks to two overdrive ratios, better highway fuel efficiency. This advanced, radar-based cruise control monitors the vehicle ahead and adjusts your speed to help maintain a chosen following distance. Its stop-and-go function can bring the car to a halt if it senses stopped traffic, then resume automatically.

With technology that monitors ordinary road markings, Lane Keeping Assist helps detect unintended drifting off-course, and alerts the driver by vibrating the steering wheel. In our newest generation of gasoline engines numerous advances team up to deliver more torque over a wider range of rpm. Rapid-multispark ignition fires up to four times per millisecond, while advanced high-pressure Direct Injection microscopically tunes the fuel spray, reducing emissions, fuel consumption and noise.
