    The optional Appearance Package adds fashionable and functional enhancements to any E-Class Coupe, starting with 18-inch AMG twin 5-spoke alloy wheels[*1], multicontour front seats and brushed aluminum pedals. The E350 Coupe also adds perforated front brake discs with Silver-painted calipers (standard on the E550), and a lowered sport suspension. The E550 adds a flat-bottom sport steering wheel.

    While the pillarless hardtop design of the E-Class Coupes uses concealment to make a statement, gleaming LED illumination creates an undeniable presence. Part of the E550 Appearance Package, the sport steering wheel features pronounced contours, thick padding and a Premium leather-wrapped rim with perforated side grips, putting the delights of precise handling literally in the driver's hands. When the vehicle is traveling above approximately 20 mph, this system uses radar technology to sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. The system also gives an audible warning if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot.

Body structure

Body structure
The E-Class Coupe is elaborately engineered to provide the strength and crashworthiness expected of a Mercedes-Benz, even without central roof pillars. High-strength/low-alloy (HSLA) steel provides greater resistance to bending and flexing than conventional steel of similar weight. HSLA and ultra-high-strength steel are used in critical areas of the body structure, such as the front and rear roof pillars, floor and roof crossmembers, door beams and various reinforcements throughout the body.

PERFORMANCE

1. Lower aspect ratio tires and accompanying wheels provide substantially increased treadwear, increased tire noise and reduced ride comfort. Serious wheel and tire damage may occur if the vehicle is operated on rough or damaged road surfaces or upon encountering road debris or obstacles. These tires are not designed for use on snow and ice. Winter tires mounted on appropriately sized and approved wheels are recommended for driving in those conditions.
