    With dual 7-inch LCD screens and a multitude of input options, the optional Rear Seat Entertainment system lets 2nd-row passengers watch DVD movies, attach a portable gaming console and more. And they can do it together or individually, with two pairs of headsets and wireless remotes. You can even play the sound through the vehicle's audio system, so the 3rd row can watch as well.

    Dual-zone climate control filters dust, pollen and odors from the cabin air, while allowing the driver to enjoy a separate temperature zone from the rest of the cabin. An optional 3-zone system adds dedicated rear-cabin air conditioning and a rear control panel. Heated front seats are standard, while optional heated rear seats and Active Ventilated front seats further expand your choices.

    Standard Burl Walnut wood trim is polished by hand to a warm glow. The available Full Leather Seating Package adds the rich feel of hand-fiitted leather not just to the seats but also to the head restraints, whose adjustable side wings add to the feeling of first-class travel. The package also includes soothing ambient lighting of the dashboard, front footwells and and doors.

60/40-split 2nd-row seats

With more than 39 inches of legroom, the spacious 2nd-row seating offers generous space for passengers. The seats fold flat in seconds in a 60/40-split, for flexible cargo space as well.

Impressive need not be imposing in the GL-Class. Its solid, substantial presence combines a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and chiseled, muscular lines. Brushed aluminum accents and stainless-steel skid plates add rugged refinement.

3-zone climate control

3-zone climate control
Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort, while a third zone is dedicated to the rear cabin. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes both a dust/pollen filter plus an an activated charcoal filter that helps remove odors from the cabin air. The rear-cabin settings can be adjusted from both the in-dash and 2nd-row control panels.

Towing capacity

Campers, boats, horse trailers, bikes... whatever you are towing, the GL-Class was designed with pulling a trailer in mind. Take full advantage of its 7,500-lb towing capacity with an optional factory-installed trailer hitch kit allows the GL350 BlueTEC to meet Class IV towing requirements.

3.0L BlueTEC turbodiesel V-6 engine

A rich legacy reflected in a bold presence
BlueTEC clean diesel technology is the state of the art for all 50 states. The 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 delivers 210 hp, a massive 400 lb-ft of torque, and acceleration on par with many gasoline V-8s. Mercedes-Benz, pioneer of the original diesel car, has reinvented it without the noise, odor and emissions of old. By injecting a solution called AdBlue® into the exhaust, BlueTEC reduces smog-causing NOx to harmless nitrogen and water vapor. And with better highway mpg than some 4-cylinders and hybrids, if offers a cruising range of over 550 miles.

iPod® Integration Kit

iPod® Integration Kit
The Mercedes-Benz iPod® Integration Kit allows control of your Apple iPod via the multifunction steering-wheel audio controls. Song information is displayed in the instrument cluster. (iPod sold separately. iPod Integration Kit is compatible only with iPod models with standardized dock connector, and not compatible with iPod Shuffle or Gen 1 iPod). Controls on iPod are not available when connected to vehicle. This kit may require vehicle coding to activate steering wheel-mounted control buttons and it is recommended it be installed by an MBUSA-approved repair facility. Kit does not provide a means to secure iPod in glove box; this is the sole responsibility of the customer. MBUSA will not be liable for any damage caused by or to an unsecured iPod.

Heated front seats

Electrically heated front seats quickly take the chill out of even the coldest day. Three levels of warming automatically step down after several minutes to the lowest setting.

Premium leather 4-spoke multifunction steering wheel

The standard 4-spoke multifunction steering wheel is wrapped in supple Premium leather. For fingertip access to some of the vehicle functions you use most often, convenient buttons on the steering wheel let you control the audio volume and selection, send and end calls on your Bluetooth-enabled phone, and scroll through the features of the multifunction display in the instrument cluster.

Power tilt/sliding sunroof

At the touch of a button, the tinted glass sunroof tilts up at the rear for ventilation, or slides open for a breezy view of the sky. An express feature fully opens or closes the roof with a single touch, and a manual sliding sunshade helps block out unwanted sunlight.

Rear Seat Entertainment system

LCD monitors built into the front head restraints offer first-rate entertainment to the second row. Dual input sources let passengers enjoy DVDs and video games together or independently, with two wireless headsets and dual wireless remotes. Separate movies can play at once, by using both the DVD player under the rear seat and the standard in-dash CD/DVD changer. Auxiliary inputs on both monitors plus the underseat DVD player connect portable gaming devices, video cameras or other peripherals. Audio can play via the vehicle's sound system or discreetly through each headset.

4-wheel Electronic Traction System

4MATIC all-wheel drive
For optimum traction, even in slippery conditions, 4MATIC all-wheel drive incorporates our advanced 4-wheel Electronic Traction System. 4-ETS can help get you going even if three wheels lose their grip. Sensors at each wheel monitor traction based on wheel speeds. If one or more wheels start to slip, 4-ETS individually brakes the slipping wheels to maintain the flow of torque to the wheels with grip. Even if only one wheel has grip, 4-ETS can help get you going and stay in control.

Paddle shifters

A pair of paddles strategically positioned behind the upper steering-wheel spokes allows you to manually upshift and downshift the 7-speed automatic transmission with just a flick of your fingers.
