power liftgate

For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open and close the liftgate via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the driver's door or the underside of the liftgate and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the liftgate if it detects an obstruction, and you can set the system to limit the opening height, useful under low ceilings.

19-inch triple 5-spoke wheels

Daring and durable, these 19-inch triple 5-spoke wheels are the largest standard wheels in the GLK's class, and come outfitted with all-season tires.

7-speed automatic

A wide range of closely spaced gear ratios delivers the ideal response for virtually every driving situation, for smooth cruising, quick acceleration, and thanks to two overdrive ratios, better highway fuel efficiency. Adaptive logic monitors your driving style and adjusts its shift points to match, while a new column-mounted electronic selector and selectable Sport mode offer enhanced control and choice.

19-inch wheels

Standard 19-inch triple-spoke alloy wheels full out the chiseled wheel arches with their generous size and aggressive style.

Panorama roof

Offering both front- and rear-seat passengers sweeping skyward views, this fully functional glass sunroof features a front panel that can either tilt up for ventilation or slide over the rear panel for an open-air feeling. Dual interior power shades allow occupants to adjust the amount of sunlight entering the cabin.

DISTRONIC PLUS

This advanced, radar-based cruise control monitors the vehicle ahead and adjusts your speed to help maintain a chosen following distance. Its stop-and-go function can bring the car to a halt if it senses stopped traffic, then resume automatically.

60/40-split rear seatbacks

The GLK-Class accommodates up to 23.3 cu ft of cargo with all the seats up, and 54.7 cu ft of cargo with the 60/40-split rear seats folded.

PRE-SAFE® Brake

Should the car ahead slow or stop suddenly, the PRE-SAFE Brake system can automatically engage up to 40% of available braking power and issue an audiovisual alarm. If you still haven't applied the brakes within 0.6 seconds of a calculated impact, it automatically engages 100% braking power, to help reduce the severity of impact.

Adaptive Highbeam Assist

Engineered to maximize road illumination without creating glare for other drivers. Adaptive Highbeam Assist uses continuous input from a camera to automatically vary the range of your high-beam headlamps, based on the distance to oncoming vehicles and to those ahead of you.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST continuously monitors different parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips.

Lane Keeping Assist

With technology that monitors ordinary road markings, Lane Keeping Assist helps detect unintended drifting off-course, and alerts the driver by vibrating the steering wheel.

Using GPS technology, an 80GB hard drive to store maps, points of interest, and Zagat® Survey ratings for restaurants, hotels and golf courses, this virtual copilot provides detailed driving directions with remarkable speed and a friendly voice. The COMAND system's 7-inch color-LCD screen can also display gas stations, ATMs and Mercedes-Benz dealerships along your route.

115V outlet

Conveniently located in the cargo area, a household-style 115V outlet lets you charge your laptop or camera, plug in a gaming system, or use other electronic devices, up to a maximum of 150 watts, without a special adapter.

hands-free calling

Place and answer calls, and even access select phonebooks without taking your hands off the steering wheel with standard Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling. Pairing your Bluetooth-compatible phone with the vehicle is simpler than ever. Then, just leave your phone in your pocket and enjoy hands-free conversations over the audio system.

Blind Spot Assist

When the vehicle is traveling above approximately 20 mph, this system uses radar technology to sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist then automatically alerts the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. The system also gives an audible warning if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot.

An elegant, intuitive central controller on the console and a multifunction steering wheel put the features you use most often close at hand, with minimal distraction from the joy of driving.

ECO Start/Stop

The fuel-saving ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The feature can also be shut off by the driver at any time

iPod® integration

The iPod/MP3 Media Interface turns your Mercedes-Benz into an extension of your iPod or compatible electronic device. Browse, select and play your musical accompaniment of choice using steering-wheel, COMAND-system or stereo controls.

Electronic Stability Program

This safety breakthrough first introduced by Mercedes-Benz continually monitors your driving inputs and the vehicle's motion to help keep it going in your intended direction, especially in corners and during evasive maneuvers. If it detects wheelspin, severe understeer (plowing), or oversteer (fishtailing), ESP can brake individual wheels and reduce engine power to help bring the vehicle under control.

AMG wheels

Race-bred AMG wheels are a highlight of the AMG Styling Package. Both the 19-inch wheels on the GLK250 BlueTEC and the big 20-inch size on the GLK350 combine light weight and precision engineering, to further enhance the GLK's sporty handling.

4-wheel Electronic Traction System

4-ETS can help get you going even if three wheels lose their grip. Sensors at each wheel monitor traction based on wheel speeds. If one or more wheels start to slip, 4-ETS individually brakes the slipping wheels to maintain the flow of torque to the wheels with grip. Even if only one wheel has grip, 4-ETS can help get you going and stay in control.

3.5L V-6

A new-generation 3.5-liter V-6 outputs 302 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque in the GLK350. Numerous advances team up to deliver more torque over a wider range of rpm. A lightweight diecast-alloy block, quicker and more widely variable valve timing, reduced friction, and clever "on-demand" ancillary components like the alternator further boost efficiency.

harman/kardon LOGIC7® system

Specifically engineered for the GLK-Class, this premium digital sound system fills the cabin with 510 watts of beautifully balanced audio. No fewer than 11 strategically placed speakers plus the rich bass of a subwoofer deliver a wholly immersive listening experience. Digital Dynamic Volume Control impeccably and imperceptibly maintains the sound spectrum for consistent listening pleasure in varying driving conditions. And when this option is combined with the COMAND navigation system, the audio system adds Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound technology.

wire-free streaming

Bluetooth audio streaming makes it even easier to enjoy your digital music player, allowing you to connect your Bluetooth-equipped iPod® or other MP3 player wirelessly to your vehicle's audio system for convenient, cable-free playback.

10GB Music Register

Music Register allows you to store up to 10GB of your own digital music on the in-dash hard drive. It lets you copy songs from your CDs and DVDs and save them to your vehicle's audio system, so you can listen to them anytime and anywhere you drive.

paddle shifters

A pair of paddles strategically positioned behind the upper steering-wheel spokes allows you to manually upshift and downshift the 7-speed automatic transmission with just a flick of your fingers.

Active Curve Illumination

Bi-Xenon headlamps help deliver brighter, whiter light that's perceived more like natural daylight. Active Curve Illumination helps you see better into corners at night, swiveling the headlamps as you steer to increase usable illumination by up to 90% over conventional fixed headlamps.
