From the four polished-chrome tailpipes, an enticingly throaty rumble at idle crescendos to a fierce roar under acceleration and at higher revs, while the relaxed yet distinctive cruising note continually reminds you of the potential awaiting beneath the hood, and under your right foot. A tri-metallic coating in the catalytic converters helps them reach the peak of cleansing effectiveness more rapidly after a cold start, for more efficient emission control with superior long-term durability.  

AMG high-performance brakes deliver outstanding deceleration with extremely large perforated and internally ventilated discs at all four wheels. A 3-stage ESP® system on the C63 AMG offers a mode for every driving situation: ESP ON, ESP SPORT and ESP OFF. The three modes differ in how they respond to handling instability, such as oversteer and understeer in corners or sudden maneuvers. In ESP ON mode, the detection of instability results in braking intervention at one or more wheels, accompanied by a reduction in engine torque, to help rotate the vehicle back onto the driver's intended course. ESP SPORT mode allows for considerably more active driver involvement and pleasure for performance driving. It raises the dynamic thresholds for the braking intervention to counter oversteer or understeer, as well as the accompanying reduction in engine torque. The result is greater driver control at higher drift angles. Finally, there is a mode for putting the driver in complete control of handling dynamics and engine torque. ESP OFF removes electronic intervention altogether, making the results a direct expression of the driver's skill. In the case of a rear impact exceeding a preset threshold, NECK-PRO front head restraints move forward and slightly upward, reducing the distance between the head restraints and the heads of front-seat occupants. Arguably our most important passive safety feature, all four 3-point seat belts are equipped with Emergency Tensioning Devices (ETDs) and belt force limiters. If a collision exceeds a preset threshold, ETDs instantly remove slack from the seat belts. Belt force limiters allow a slight amount of give in the seat belts, to reduce the peak seat-belt forces on the occupant.
