Handcrafted AMG 5.5L biturbo V-8
With reduced displacement, numerous innovations and twin turbochargers, the advanced 5.5-liter V-8 of the ML63 AMG outputs a thunderous 518 hp @ 5,250 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque @ 1,750-5,000 rpm. While it bears the signature of the single technician who lovingly assembled it by hand, it's a high-tech powerhouse. Its twin turbochargers spin up to 185,000 rpm to dramatically boost low-end torque. High-pressure Direct Injection microscopically fine-tunes the fuel spray while rapid-multispark ignition fires up to four times in a millisecond. Its 32 valves are driven by dual overhead camshafts that can precisely vary their timing by up to 40 degrees. Along with substantially improved efficiency and emissions, plus the everyday smoothness for which AMG engines are renowned, it also delivers 60 mph in a breathtaking 4.7 seconds.
AMG sport exhaust
A true dual system, the AMG sport exhaust is meticulously tuned to heighten the driver's emotional inspiration during revs, gear changes and full-throttle acceleration, yet deliver comfortable subtlety under relaxed cruising. Lightweight design and advanced catalysts add an eco-friendly edge to the throaty growl emanating from its four polished trapezoidal tips.
7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission
The 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission features exclusive AMG calibration and features to allow multiple degrees of driver involvement and response. Three driving modes can be selected via a console-mounted button: "Controlled Efficiency" features a fuel-saving ECO Start/Stop function. "Sport" mode raises the shift points to higher rpm. And a paddle-shifted "Manual" mode allows direct sequential gear selection. In any mode, downshifts are rev-matched with a brief "blip" of the throttle between gearchanges, for smoother engagement and more immediate power delivery upon acceleration.
Aluminum shift paddles
A pair of aluminum paddles strategically positioned behind the upper steering-wheel spokes allows you to manually upshift and downshift the 7-speed automatic transmission with just a flick of your fingers.
ECO Start/Stop system
A fuel-saving ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.
4MATIC all-wheel drive

Adaptive Damping System
Incorporated into our innovative AIRMATIC air suspension, electronically controlled ADS automatically instantly varies the suspension characteristics according to the driving situation, reducing body roll, pitch and dive while maximizing agility and smoothness. ADS continually optimizes ride and handling by automatically selecting one of four damping profiles for each spring-strut every time a wheel changes its direction of up-down travel. ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM
The ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM incorporates active stabilizers to help control body lean during cornering maneuvers. Adaptive braking technology

The visible muscle of the ML63 AMG offers ample evidence of its all-around capability. Performance cues dominate its powerful front end, from its adaptive Bi-Xenon headlamps and prominent louvered grille to its deep front air dam, whose functional mesh intakes feed vital air to the engine, intercoolers, and cooling systems for the engine and transmission oil. Another Mercedes-Benz safety breakthrough, PRE-SAFE® is a predictive occupant-protection system that helps prepare for an accident in the critical moments before it occurs. If sensors detect certain vehicle movements that indicate that an accident is possible, PRE-SAFE takes action: Reversible electronic tensioners tighten the front seat belts. The occupied front passenger seat (on models equipped with front-seat memory) adjusts to a more favorable position for air-bag and seat-belt effectiveness, while both active front head restraints adjust for optimum protection. If severe skidding indicates that a rollover is likely, PRE-SAFE closes the sunroof and side windows. Post-collision response
Complementing the preparations made by the PRE-SAFE system before an impending collision, an M-Class automatically takes measures to help ensure the safety, and facilitate the rescue, of the occupants immediately after one occurs. SmartKey
The SmartKey remote control integrates remote door locks, a removable valet key, and a remote panic alarm. You may selectively unlock only the driver's door and fuel filler, or all four doors plus the liftgate and fuel filler.
Antitheft alarm system with remote panic feature
The standard antitheft alarm system is armed automatically when you lock your Mercedes from the outside. It sounds the horn and flashes the exterior lights if a door, the trunk or the hood is opened without first unlocking the vehicle. You can also sound the alarm by pressing the red "panic" button on your SmartKey remote when you're within range of your vehicle.
Rain-sensing windshield wipers
Rain-sensing windshield wipers automatically adjust the intermittent wiper frequency based on the amount of rainfall.
Emergency Tensioning Devices (ETDs)
Equipped with Emergency Tensioning Devices (ETDs) and belt force limiters, 3-point seat belts are arguably our most important passive safety feature. If a collision exceeds a preset threshold, the ETDs instantly remove slack from the front and rear outboard seat belts. Required Vehicle Maintenance starting with Model Year 2009
As of model year 2009, Mercedes-Benz vehicles follow a maintenance schedule of 10,000-mile or 12-month intervals, whichever occurs first. Required maintenance is the routine service necessary to keep your vehicle in peak operating condition, and to help avoid damage to your vehicle. For all other model years, refer to your maintenance manual for specific maintenance schedule information.

Recommended Maintenance for Model Year 2009 and newer
In addition to regular required maintenance, recommended service work is intended to provide you with the flexibility to choose the additional maintenance work performed on your vehicle, based on its needs or recommendations from your authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealer.
Beyond any specific recommendations you receive from your Mercedes-Benz technician, you should check the following items regularly and prior to any long trip:

- Coolant level
- Brake system fluid level (If brake fluid needs to be added, see an authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealer to determine the cause.)
- Windshield washing system (Add washer fluid mixed with Mercedes-Benz windshield washer solvent/concentrate, test function, and check wiper blades.)
- Tire pressure (Check at least every other week.)
If applicable to your vehicle's configuration, tire rotation should be performed in accordance with the recommended intervals, or sooner at the first signs of irregular (uneven) tread wear. A tire inspection will help determine the need for a tire rotation which may occur at least once between regular Mercedes-Benz maintenance intervals. Check with your authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealership for specific recommendations.
The first rotation inspection occurring at an authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealership at any time up to 5,000 miles is provided at no charge.*
The required maintenance intervals have been determined based on normal operating conditions. Any severe operating conditions may call for more frequent replacement of items such as interior filters, spark plugs, coolant, tires, etc. Checking these items regularly and bringing your vehicle in for service appointments earlier than required, if necessary, will help keep your Mercedes-Benz in top condition.
