Brakes

AMG S 63 Cabriolet

High-performance driving requires unique braking capability. Mercedes-AMG braking systems are built to minimize fade (the result of intense heat), and provide brisk, stable deceleration.

Standard on many vehicles, including the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45, this brake system features perforated front rotors and rear rotors with silver-painted fixed calipers.

The next step up, our composite braking system offers even greater levels of deceleration. On the Mercedes-AMG GT C, composite rotors in the front and rear are ventilated, slotted, and perforated for better cooling and fade resistance.

For this brake, two-piece rotors are made of carbon and ceramic compound – a material similar to what’s used in AMG F1 racecars – so they’re 40% lighter and require less pedal pressure. Bronze-colored 6-piston front calipers give them a striking look as your vehicle comes to a stop.
