World-class handling starts here with a computer-regulated adaptive damping system. The geometry and springs are then carefully engineered to match each vehicle with the proper suspension.

For this suspension, sensors and computers actively measure variables like lateral acceleration, chassis movement and steering angle, instantly determining the right amount of damping for each individual wheel.

Sporting advanced air spring-struts in the front and rear, this suspension actually adjusts the ride height when load weight shifts. At high speeds, ride height is reduced for better aerodynamics and handling.

For more agility and higher traction, Affalterbach engineers created this suspension with special steering knuckles on the front axle, a multi-chamber air suspension, and increased rigidity.

Active Body Control holds the vehicle steady by regulating the strut forces for each wheel. As a result, any unnecessary body movement is significantly reduced.

In the Mercedes-AMG S 65, Active Body Control is combined with a Road Surface Scan system, which studies the road ahead and anticipate obstacles. A stereo camera transmits data to the control computer, and in just fractions of a second, the suspension compensates for a bump or dip. Similarly, the Active Curve Tilting function reads the road and lets the vehicle lean into corners for added aerodynamics.
