Introducing the Ener-G-Force concept, a visionary and
tough-as-nails answer to the Los Angeles Design Challenge 2012. Based on the legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Class, it's a theoretical, environmentally friendly SUV designed for the future of law enforcement and emergency services. And you never know: it just might prove to be a preview of things to come by the year 2025.

Powered by a hypothetical version of our proven, zero-emission F-CELL hydrogen-fuel-cell technology, the Ener-G-Force sends recycled water in tanks on its roof to a
"hydro-tech converter" that transforms natural and renewable resources into energy. Advanced, lightweight-composite construction also contributes to the vehicle's exceptional efficiency, helping it achieve an operating range of about 500 miles. What's more, instead of a fulltime all-wheel drive system, you'll find four, electric wheel-hub motors that work independent of one another to tackle the toughest terrain on the planet.

The Ener-G-Force may be a concept vehicle. But envisioning "what could be" is how the automobile -- and Mercedes-Benz -- was born. And it's what continues to drive us today.

1. Engine requires the use of ultralow-sulfur diesel fuel. Mercedes-Benz diesel vehicles utilize advanced emission control technology that is designed to comply with current stringent exhaust emissions regulations. Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel with no more than 5% biodiesel content must be used. Mercedes-Benz approves the use of B5 biodiesel in all BlueTEC engines as pure biodiesel (B100) and biodiesel blends greater than B5 (e.g. B10, B20, etc.) are not factory-approved and can damage the engine, fuel system and exhaust after treatment system. The only approved biodiesel content is one that both meets ASTM D6751 specifications and has the oxidation stability to necessary to prevent deposit/corrosion-related damages to the system (min 6th proven by EN14112 method). Please see your service station for further information. If the B5 biodiesel blend does not clearly indicate that it meets the above standards, do not use it. The Mercedes-Benz New Vehicle Limited warranty does not cover damage caused by non Mercedes-Benz approved fuel standards. BlueTEC models are not available in Illinois.

2. Towing requires optional trailer hitch. Read Operator's Manual before towing. In some states, aftermarket trailer brakes are required. See dealer for details.

Technologies such as Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and DISTRONIC PLUS with PRE-SAFE® Brake are no substitute for active driving involvement, driving awareness, and checking of surrounding traffic conditions. They cannot be relied on to avoid an accident or serious injury.  It is the driver´s responsibility at all times to be attentive to traffic and road conditions, and to provide the steering, braking and other driving inputs necessary to retain control of the vehicle.
