Mercedes-AMG X F1® The Movie

F1® The Movie tells the story of Sonny Hayes, a promising Formula 1 driver in the 1990s, until an accident on the track ends his career. Three decades later, he returns to racing with APXGP, a fictional team driving vehicles modified for this production with Mercedes-AMG technology. Driving alongside the team’s skilled rookie, Sonny takes aim to become the best in the world.

Filmed on actual Formula 1 racetracks, like Silverstone Circuit at the British Grand Prix, the audience will get glimpses of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team drivers playing themselves. F1 delivers thrilling action sequences and remarkable footage that gives the audience a sense of being in the driver’s seat.

A tradition of speed.

Mercedes-Benz brings a legacy of motorsport dating back nearly a century with the iconic Silver Arrow racing car. Yet, it was the 1954 French Grand Prix when the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio secured the team's first Formula 1 World Championship Title at the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz W 196 R Formula 1 racing car.

This is the ethos of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 Team led by Team Principal and CEO Toto Wolff. The 2025 season will see drivers George Russell, a Grand Prix winner, and up-and-coming Andrea Kimi Antonelli compete for the Championship in the new F1 W16 E Performance racing car.

Winning seven consecutive double Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships from 2014 to 2020 and securing a record-breaking eighth consecutive Constructors’ Championship success in 2021, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Team is one of the most successful in the sport’s history.
