Dual permanently synchronous electric motors (400kW total)
<p>Smooth, quiet and rich in torque, the EQS 550 4MATIC SUV is powered by dual electric motors with 400 kW total output. They can distribute up to 536 hp and 633 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. The "permanently excited synchronous motors" (PSMs) feature permanent magnets to generate AC current with high power density and efficiency. An advanced cooling system helps maintain consistent response during spirited driving and a wide range of climates.</p>
Fully variable 4MATIC all-wheel drive
<p>In any season, 4MATIC® all-wheel drive adds to your confidence and control. The dual electric EQS motors allow its 4MATIC system to fully vary the torque distribution between the front and rear axles. Continually monitoring for wheel slip and other parameters, the system can reapportion torque in response to changing driving conditions, or decouple the front axle to help enhance range. And since the function is a built-in benefit of the dual motors, it adds virtually no weight to the vehicle.</p>
AIRMATIC suspension
<p>For a balanced, comfortable ride, the AIRMATIC® semi-active suspension employs electronically controlled air springs that adjust to changing driving conditions. Components are engineered to offer quick response with light system weight. AIRMATIC's automatic 4-wheel level control helps compensate for additional cargo or passengers. It can also lower the ride height at higher speeds for improved aerodynamics, stability and efficiency, or raise it up to an inch for added ground clearance.</p>
Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX)
<p>A breakthrough in automobile cockpit control, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience is further enhanced in the EQS. MBUX integrates digital in-dash displays including touchscreen technology, touch-sensitive controls, Bluetooth® hands-free and audio streaming, and an industry-advancing voice control system that responds to your everyday speaking voice and phrasing of commands. You can set up multiple user profiles of favored settings, and groups of settings can be saved as themes or moods.</p>
MBUX Navigation with Electric Intelligence
<p>The advanced MBUX Navigation offers intuitive operation and a choice of input methods such as touch controls and the natural voice recognition of "Hey, Mercedes." In the EQE, Electric Intelligence helps plan the fastest and most convenient route option, dynamically factoring traffic, topography, ambient temperature, as well as charging needs and options along a route. Active Range Monitoring can further help the driver maximize range along the way with useful information and suggestions.</p>
