Plug-In Hybrid technology
<p>Advanced 4th-gen Plug-In Hybrid technology delivers numerous electric-car benefits while retaining the convenience of a gasoline engine. The compact electric motor can deliver a substantial boost in power and torque, or let you drive up to 47 miles on battery power alone. Charging can come from the gas engine and regenerative braking, or plug it into an ordinary AC outlet to go from 0 percent to fully charged in just 2.75 hours. Optional DC charging can go from 10 to 80 percent in 20 minutes.</p>
AIRMATIC suspension
<p>For a balanced, comfortable ride, the AIRMATIC® semi-active suspension employs electronically controlled air springs that adjust to changing driving conditions. Reengineered components offer quicker response with lighter system weight. AIRMATIC's automatic 4-wheel level control helps compensate for additional cargo or passengers. It also lowers the ride height at higher speeds for improved aerodynamics, stability and efficiency.</p>
Automatic Lane Change
<p>An innovative driver assist can help you negotiate multilane divided highways with a new level of ease. When cruising with DISTRONIC® engaged and the system detects a clear path of travel, the vehicle can automatically signal and move into an adjacent lane to overtake slower vehicles. A chime alerts you to the maneuver. And if you're also using navigation route guidance, it can automatically change lanes to prepare for an upcoming exit. The driver can override these maneuvers at any time.</p>
Active multicontour front seats with massage
<p>The active multicontour front seats each feature adjustable lumbar supports, side bolsters and shoulder supports, for custom-tailored support. Active side bolsters can be set to automatically increase lateral support in cornering maneuvers, or even in the event of a potential accident. Ten massage programs can soothe and rejuvenate the lower back and shoulders, including modes combining massage and heat for a "hot stone" effect worthy of a high-end spa.</p>
Burmester 3D Surround Sound system
<p>The Burmester® 3D system pairs innovations in mobile audio with legendary quality. A Digitial Signal Processing amp can output 710 total watts to deliver a natural sound spectrum in any music genre. A total of 15 speakers includes 3D surround speakers, exquisitely drilled metal speaker grilles, and body-integrated FrontBass subwoofers. Along with preset listening modes, Sound Personalization can tailor settings to your individual tastes.</p>
