Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine with hybrid assist
<p>The acclaimed AMG biturbo 4.0L V8 features updates to its fuel injection, intake, exhaust, camshaft and turbos, along with a flat-plane crankshaft and new firing order. Generating 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, it can deliver 60 in 4.0 seconds and swift response at any speed. Its "hot inside V" turbo location cuts lag and losses. An electric Integrated Starter-Generator can efficiently add gas-free torque. Yet even with its advancements, each V8 is still hand-built and signed by its own craftsman.</p>
AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive
<p>A specially engineered version of 4MATIC can instantly vary the front-to-rear torque distribution in precise response to driving conditions and driver inputs. It can even send up to 100% to the rear wheels. An electromechanical coupling between the front and rear axles is controlled based on an elaborate matrix of driving mode, lateral and longitudinal acceleration, and available grip to optimize handling and acceleration right up to the physical limits, on virtually any road or track surface.</p>
AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL
<p>In addition to the capabilities and modes of AMG RIDE CONTROL+, the 48-volt architecture of the GLS allows for an enhancement offering active roll stabilization. Each axle employs an independently operating electromechanical actuator with an integrated planetary gear. The system helps reduce body roll and allows for more precise damping adaptation when cornering. In straight-line driving, it enhances comfort by helping adapt to asymmetrical wheel movements such as bumps on one side of the road.</p>
5-zone automatic climate control
<p>For an extraordinarily personalized degree of cabin comfort, 5-zone climate control offers individual left and right comfort zones in both the first and second rows, plus a fifth zone for the third row. Ceiling-integrated air outlets further enhance rear-cabin comfort. For added convenience, the entire cabin can be synced as one zone at the touch of a button.</p>
MBUX Superscreen
<p>A major achievement in automotive displays, the Superscreen unites an LED instrument cluster, and two LED touchscreens behind a single cross-cabin span of high-strength, fingerprint-and scratch-resistant glass. Features include permanent soft keys for primary controls, and innovative "zero-layer" intelligent menu surfacing.</p>
