4.0L V8 biturbo engine with mild hybrid drive
<p>Advanced performance comes from a high-output yet compact 4.0L biturbo V8. In addition to packing 510 hp, the GLE 580 delivers 538 lb-ft of peak torque, for quick response with the added efficiency of hybrid electric assist. Racing-derived technology ranges from its turbocharger layout to its low-friction NANOSLIDE cylinder walls. And its high-pressure Direct Injection and rapid-multispark ignition can self-tune on the fly with millisecond speed and molecular precision.</p>
4MATIC fully variable all-wheel drive
<p>A specially engineered version of 4MATIC® can automatically send from zero to 100% of the engine's torque to either axle, front or rear. A transfer case with a multi-disc clutch can vary the torque distribution based on the driving conditions in the moment. While this allows for precise response to varying surfaces and individual-wheel traction off-road and in inclement weather, it can also enhance handling in any season by favorably influencing the vehicle's rotation.</p>
AMG body styling
<p>Designed by the performance-minded artisans at Mercedes-AMG, the GLE's muscular lines are further defined by a deep front apron with larger, louvered outer grilles, a silver chrome insert in the sculpted rear bumper, and color-keyed fender flares and side sills. The wide grille presents a field of tiny Mercedes-Benz Stars, with a single crossbar anchoring the iconic central Star.</p>
Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX)
<p>The Mercedes-Benz User Experience is a breakthrough in automobile cockpit control that keeps advancing. MBUX integrates digital displays including a touchscreen, touch-sensitive controls, and an intuitive, intelligent voice control system that can respond to your natural voice, learn your habits, and grow smarter over time. Added personalization lets you set up seven user profiles of settings in the car or from your phone, and can pre-position the driver seat and mirrors based on your stature.</p>
Burmester Surround Sound System
<p>One of the most respected makers of handcrafted high-end home audio, Germany's Burmester® has developed a surround-sound system specifically for the GLE. Thirteen high-quality speakers including twin FrontBass® subwoofers and a 590-watt 9-channel digital amplifier can fill the cabin with pure digital surround sound while seamlessly compensating for ambient noise. Exquisitely detailed metal speaker grilles are as rewarding to the eyes as the system's output is to the most discerning ears.</p>
